🎉Welcome to Issue #8!
Hello babes! Welcome to September or as I now like to call it ‘Hell’-tember because the Celsius and Fahrenheits we’re experiencing in California are off the charts.
What about moi, you ask? Well I am in my follicular phase and feeling GOOD hunny. That estrogen is coursing through my veins and I feel like I can take on the whole goddamn world, one puss at a time!
This week I’ve been looking through the Smithsonian’s online directory of menstrual products over the years and found a few that I could not wait to share with you. Por ejemplo, check out this Betadine Douche, this Sphagnum Moss Sanitary Napkins or (my favorite 😀 jk not at all) Lysol Disinfectant Antiseptic.
What…was going on in the 1970’s?
Anyway! Sure, those examples are wild but most of the products that the Smithsonian Feminine Hygiene Product directory shows are pretty standard.
You know what I’m referring to. That’s right! The D’orsay Personal Belt baby!
All jokes aside, products haven’t really changed over that past few decades. A quick cursory look through the directory and *most* of the products are pads, cups, and tampons with some boric acid and betadine douche washes sprinkled in. *sigh* It made me think of how far a little innovation and creativity could go in the field. (That’s what we’re here for obvi.) If you’re curious, here’s an interesting article written by Thinx on how there’s been little innovation in this space since the 1930s.
Are there any products or services you wish existed? 🤔
Send them to us, we’re curious and are creating a list! Then scroll down to see your cycle tip for this week, an interesting read, some cool-ass pie art and more!

Spotlight: The Period Place
Who are they: While periods are talked about more than ever, there hasn’t been a transformative change in the way society accepts menstruation or supports and empowers people who get periods.
The folks at Period Place are here to change that.
They encourage stigma-crushing conversations, facilitate safe and inclusive period education and distribute thousands of disposable and reusable period products around Aotearoa to those who need them.
*Aotearoa is the original authentic name the country now referred to as New Zealand according to the native peoples.
