🎉Welcome to Issue 5!
Hey boo! How’s it going? Can I ask you a deeply deeply personal Q?
When was the last time you took a peak at your downstairs?
I mean REALLY take a peak. When was the last time you took the time to sit down, get a proper mirror, spread everything apart, and gaze 👀. Gaze and wonder. Gaze deep into the eye of your vulva (your clitoris✨) and let the thoughts and emotions wash over you. What was your reaction?
Did you then think “why is this my reaction?” or quickly covered up and never went back to it because your vulva/vagina should really be treated like your great great great great great great aunt’s 100-year-old haunted attic deep into the cornfields of the countryside that only welcomes…
Seriously though, there’s so much conversation these days around body positivity, self-worth, and loving what good ole’ Mother Nature bestowed upon each of us. Our bodies are unique and beautiful and they’re our earthly vessels that let us explore the world to make memories. The movement extends to naked bodies and genitals too but those conversations always fall into sex and sensuality, taboo territories, or weird comparisons to food - meat curtains anyone?
What if that wasn’t the case? What if we talked about admiring our vulvas in a different light? Remember that the vulva is also like a flower, a nebula, or even an oyster. It powers our bodies through a monthly cycle of hormone ballet, birth of children, pleasure, and more. That’s my challenge to you all, lovelies. Take a dip into the pool of body positivity and explore how beautiful you truly are.
Period Tips By Phase
*note: not all periods or phases are equal. You might spend a longer or shorter number of days in each of the phases than other women, girls, trans and non binary people you know that menstruate.*
🥚Ovulation (Day 14) → Uh, oh, Estrogen
✮ Did you know that the Fallopian tubes aren’t physically connected to ovaries? When ovulating, the egg goes from ovum to tube with the help of the peritoneal fluid (produced at the opening of the fallopian tubes.) Anyway, in this phase, your estrogen level is at its highest. It is said that the balance of hormones in this time breeds creativity, community, and passion. So, this month, have a get-together with your friends, start that crazy project you always thought about doing, or join your local neighborhood association, just for the heck of it. You have the energy, why not share it?
Are you focused on fertility, have PCOS or endometriosis, are transitioning f > m, or want specific tips? Drop us a note and let us know so we can share info for you!
